I hope there is some useful information here. So I went back and forth enabling and disabling the Winterland Mod (since that was one of the mods that was causing crashes), and got some results to compare when enabling the mod, and when no mods were enabled. Not sure what that means or if thats supposed to happen, but thought that it should be known. And when launching the game by pressing the blue “play” in the Steam client, there is the option to enable/disable mods. I did notice that when running the binary through the terminal, there is no option to enable/disable mods. I did try running the binary through the terminal to see if any error pops out. However some mods did work when enabled individually, like the Level Restrictions Removal Mod, but I can't tell if it works properly since that requires higher level characters (I just started a new game fresh to test some mods out). The Winterland Mod and the Unofficial Palette Expansion both caused crashes when these mods were enabled individually. I think I may have not been clear enough reading my last comment.
